Fellas,
I live in North Bama but we have a duck club house in Stuttgart... Some of us have thought about having mid summer guys weekend at the camp. Wanted to see if you could point me in the direction of some crappie fishing waters close the there? Also any places in the area that sell minnows?
I see the white is up.. Anyone fish there for crappie?

Peckerwood. Not sure about the water situation, but last week caught some nice fish in about 4'.we caught some spawners in the grass but the wind just got too rough so we ended up fishing just inside the trees and found a few as well.
The White River Refuge has oxbow after oxbow in it and the carp haven't destroyed it yet. Right now the White River is so
high, you can see under it and expected to go higher. It should be back in it's banks by the time you are planning your trip.
The St Charles area is about 30 minutes South and East of Stuttgart. You will probably catch bigger fish at Peckerwood.
Peckerwood, White river refuge as mentioned above. Definitely should have better luck on Peckerwood. I live in Dewitt and do not fish the refuge as much because those carp have slowed things way down for me it seems. Webbs bait store sells minnows in dewitt. There is a gas station in Stuttgart that sells minnows. I will say......It is hard to find minnows before 0800 in the morning round here. You better buy em the night before if you intend to. Pm me when you get close and I will put you on em if I have em figured out when ya get here.

I agree that peckerwood wld be best bet. Like Lowepro mentioned the carp have really hurt the white oxbows sad to say. You can still catch em just nothing what it used to be. If all else fails get in the river an load up on the catfish.
