Thanks Don, got here at 2:30 this afternoon. Met CliffordN at Tommy's bout 3:30 and we went and pulled cranks, he was interested to see how it worked, I warned him my method wasn't exactly an advanced science, lol. We ended up with 2 crappie and a 1-1/2# slimer of course. It was tough fishing, but with good company it makes it a lot easier. Going to try the southend tomorrow, maybe longline with the wind or spider rig if the water ain't so rough that the baits are bouncing out of the water. Our find a cove out the wind and single pole. Ya'll have a great resource down here, hate Saturday looks like rough weather. Clifford put me on a lead for a good launch point tomorrow, hope to be out there by 7am.
Hey, you caught fish first time out. Hope the rest of the trip works good for you.
Sounds like a good afternoon to me. I'm heading to Rankin landing on the east side of spillway road in bout 10 minutes. Gonna try a couple spots early before the wind gets up. Then I'll go hide in a couple coves that I hope are holding fish
Put in at the ramp by the Pelahatchie bridge this morning, no issues at all... Cept for the channel cats... They just would not leave the shiners alone long enough for the Crappie to find em... Left the lake at 1:30 and it was getting slick out there..
We ended up with 3 good fish n a few throwbacks. Oh. The jaspagoos were on fire today lol we tried water we hadn't fished yet this year. They're just not where they usually are this time of year for some reason.
