I have fished Guntersville alot over the last 5 years. When fishing there Im always careful to fish lite tackle and line.... its always helped me to get more bites. But I wonder if the line color makes a big difference to getting more bites? I have always fished clear or green line..... does anyone else have an Idea on the subject?
I use colored lines 95% of the time. The 5% of the time I don't ... I'm probably dragging a minnow around on a single pole, while I cast :p (and casting is what I do 95% of the time) or I'm trolling :DQuote:

Since my main method of attack is to cast a single jig (and/or shoot docks with same) ... I need to see the line, in order to see the slightest of hits. When I'm tightline fishing, vertical casting, or trolling ... line color doesn't make as much difference, since I "see or feel" the hit thru the rod tip. And, in order to be able to fish most any method necessary, and not have to carry a dozen different outfits (with high & low vis lines) ... I opt to use the hi-vis lines, and only carry along 4-5rods.
Does line color make a difference in how many fish hit my lure :confused: ... I don't know, and I don't know how I would know. All I do know, is that I catch fish using hi-vis colored lines ... because I can see the slightest tic in the line, when I'm casting, which is what I do 95% of the time :D

I have switched all of my jig poles to hi-visibility gold. I know that ocassionaly I get a fish that I would otherwise miss, because I can see the line much better. This is more true in certain light conditions when the line is hard to see.

-line color, in my humble opinion and from experience, will in most cases not come into the equation. The hi-visibility lines helps me to tell where my jig is, especially if it's windy or the sun puts too much glare on the water. If I'm pitching floats it doesn't help much to have colored lines, cause I'm watching the float.
colored lines have caught just as many fish as the camo or clear lines.
I used some of the cajun red - but didn't care for the line... I like the hi-vis green. I use 6 for trolling and 4 of shooting docks.
