Santee has fished tough for the most part this year. I did manage to fish two different areas of the lake to catch a couple or nice messes this weekend. Single pole jigged on Friday, long lined on Saturday. Water temps are 65 plus, and the fish are in different stages depending on what area you are in. Friday most fish were males, with a spattering of spawned out females. Saturday was a mix of males and females busting with eggs. Though the pics don't show it, I found a few white fish willing to bite on Saturday as well. The weather looks pretty poor for all this week which should allow for a lot of egg laying as the winds and storms should keep the fishermen at bay. Be safe out there if you brave the elements.
