i've had this unit at the bow for several years now. my last 4 or 5 fishing trips when i pull the tm out of the water the unit shuts down. once you put the transducer back in the water and turn it on it works fine. any thoughts??????

That's an odd one murdok ... there's not an auto shutoff feature ...
Is the unit powered thru the front panel or wired directly to the battery ...??

Probably, something is loose.maybe try wiggling some wires around,to see if the unit shuts down
i've checked the power and there is no interruption in current. i think i have a short in my transducer cable. the unit shutting down must be some sort of safety feature to prevent burning out components. looks like when they mounted it at the shop the cable was a little to tight and time has caught up with it.Quote:
