black crappie --- where did they go ?

I have been to the Bone several times after the Crappie Masters on D'Arbonne. Most Times we would catch about a dozen good fish there were never any mumbers like a few that overloaded the cooler. Every Fish but one were White Crappie Males on the Bank in about 2 foot of Water. The Other was a Two Pound female in 5 foot water, Eggs Ready , but not close enough to ease out of the Vent.. All of the Males,,,, None had ragged tails and the Melt would not come out if squeezed, Like the spawn had not Happened I realized suddenly if every fish on the bank are White Crappie --- Where do the Black Crappie spawn -- in deeper water,,, in stump Flats ???? I have not caught any at the Cypress in shallow water ---- Like my Question, Where ?????

I catch black crappie spawning on the north end of Toledo in less than 2 ft. of water.

Several I caught were so dark I thought they were Blacks, However the Fin count said different, North Banks are supose to be warmer,,, lets see what others have Found... thanks For the Responce

I do think both black and white crappie spawn on the 10' and deeper flats on D'Arbonne. They are caught there throughout the spawn, far from any 2-4 feet of water.

I have a friend who fishes in the creek sections far up Little D'Arbonne and Corney Creek and probably 90 percent of their regular catch consists of black crappie :fish

They are probably about threw with the spawn and are in the transaction from the spawn!!!

Jig Rig down in south La turned me on to hours of reading on the difference between Black and White Crappie using Tracking inserted in the Fish in Kentuckey Lake over a couple of years to find out . A lot of the Blacks like the Bushes and submerged tember and stay out of Current ---- they get in places boats do not go !!!! The Reaserchers were shocked to Find the Black stayed in shallow water long after the Post Spawn and the whites had moved back into deeper water in the old Creek Channels

The report did say they share the same pre spawn areas in 6 to 10 foot range
