Norman 3/25/17

fished Norman most all day today. Just 3 crappie - 9", 13", and 14". About 12 spots and 6 perch. I did come across about a 19" spot floating on the main channel near the mouth of a cove. It was still moving just a bit so we netted it to take a look. It had about a 7" perch lodged in it's mouth with the nose of the perch going into the bass's gills. No way it could make it through there, and if you are familiar with those dadgum prickly finned and sharp gilled perch, there was no way it was going to back it's way out. We'll, we managed to pry the perch out of there and try to reinvigorate it, but to no avail. My boys and I have noticed that there seems to be fewer perch this year. Maybe the bigger spots are beginning to feed on perch - I hope so.
