Darbonne, caught some on the "short line"
Brought my daughter Mckenzlie out with dad and I to get some thump lessons in. I let her sit on the deck in front of me and fish most of the day while I coached her on.
She did well overall. Took a while to get the hang of pitching a jig and letting it swim back to you. I watched her line for her and several times had to tell her to set the hook but she was way better at it by the end of the trip. She probably caught 9 or 10 by herself and this was her best crappie trip by far.
Nothing like watching her do well and have a good time even if I had to take a backseat to the action most of the day.
We fished the shallows all morning with most of our fish coming near some form of grass in less than 4ft of water.
