Lake Murray 3/18/2017
Wow! The wind is blowing out there today! I had a good friend join me for a few hours this morning. We were in search of the elusive Lake Murray slabs. The cold snap has really changed things up. The water temp was in the low 50s this morning, a 10 degree drop from last week, and the big fish have vanished.
We were tightlining and ended up with 11 crappie and a perch for the knife. We threw back about half as many as we kept. They look like they all came from the same mold, but it was fun! We didn't have any hot colors, but the fish we caught were deep... 14-18 ft down dead in the channel. They were basically laying on the bottom and most were males. We quit at 11 when the wind really kicked it up a notch. I believe the afternoon bite is better right now.

I don't know how you took that wind. Of course, you're a lot younger than I am. Nice catch on a windy day!

Had to be a hard time keeping the boat where you wanted it. Congrats on the morning.

Wow you are brave to fight that wind. Nice report. Seems like in Winter they can school up in same year class.
