Does anyone use a head lamp for tying? I use a desk lamp now but I can't position it where it's not shining in my eyes giving me a headache after a while and it's too dark without it.

Mike, I have one of those magnifiers on a movable arm. I found a little cheap LED lamp with a clamp on it. Found it at lowes for around 9.00. Ran cord down arm of magnifier. I can position it where it is shining on the vice without shining in my eyes.
That's a good idea, so it's one of the small ones almost like a book light for reading?

One I have is a Peak and kind of costly, but is also an LED type. I also have a Magnifier if I wanted to use it, but I don't and it just sits here away from my tying area, lol! I had a different kind of tying light before this one and now my wife uses it, but I really don't remember the cost of my first one because it was too long ago. The Peak is I think $139.95 plus what ever else like shipping so not cheap, but I do like it a lot!
Just google fly tying lights and you will see a lot of what is available.

thanks skip, I'll have to look into that, I was thinking more DIY but if theres something that works great and already made its worth checking out.
I bought an led desk lamp with a long articulated arm at menards for around $30 and just love it. LED today is so bright, old as I am anything bright is good.
