Pink from Harbor Freight PP?

I have been looking for a Pink PP - Pro-Tec sells a Pink Pearl but it is a bit too dark. I have a lb of HF Red which is really Maroon. Can I add (and how much) some HF White to get a lighter pink? I have searched the Custom Mix sticky at the top of the forum, but so many of the pictures are gone it is almost impossible to see what the end color will be. I found one that uses Pro-Tec Ruby Slipper and white that is close that still has its picture.

I would prefer to use the HF PP as it is so much more economical. I have to buy some white and the local shop sells the Pro-Tec for $7.95 a small jar and I can get HF PP for $6.39 @ pound!

It's cheap enough you can afford to play with it some. Cant guarantee pink is what you will get but it should get you close. Some times you come up with some pretty neat colors when you start experimenting.

If you'll look at the last reply on the sticky powder paint custom mix I have a picture of some harbor freight mixtures that I have used. There are a couple shades of pink on there.

Two questions for KyArmyDad:

How did you get the black glossy? All I have ever seen at HF is Matte Black.
My red is more of a deep maroon rather than the bright red you got. I got mine off the discount rack - do you think I got a bad batch?

I got the matte black, white, yellow, and red at HF in Paducah for $3.99 a lb last year. After I dip in powder paint Then heat it again for 10-20 seconds with heat gun. I've never cured mine in a oven and haven't had any trouble.

those are the only colors I've every heard that they had - but add white till you get the color you want, or go through Roseys and get their pink.

How'd you get it for $3.99/lb? My HF sells it for $6.39/lb.

add the red to the white the red will most likely be the stronger color. I maybe wrong that is my thinking. U can clear the black but that is double dipping also u could spray clear on them with spray paint. it would have the strong power paint and the clear spray paint would be the gloss. I have 4 colors of HB power paint my red is red not dark white is good the yellow is like dark orange and the black is flat black. If i get time i will see if the red & white makes a good pink !!!!Cub48

I did try the red and white HB power paint for the pink it will make pink may want something to blend it up it makes a pale pink not a hot pink. Cub48
