Guntersville March 8-11
We had a short 3-day trip to Guntersville last week. My brother came down from KY, my dad and cousin drove down from TN and I drove up from middle GA. The water level is about 2' low. (Stay in the creek channels in shallow water!)
Normally we can locate some crappie or get on a pattern but this trip proved to be very tough. My dad and cousin have been fishing Guntersville Lake for 15+ years and this was the worst trip they ever had from a fishing perspective. But it was a great trip because we were able to get together and fellowship with each other. My brother and I both caught a freshwater drum on crappie tackle. I don't care who you are, fighting them drum on light tackle is a blast! Both fish would weigh around 12-15lbs each!
All combined, we probably kept 20 crappie during the entire trip. Thankfully the white bass were bunched up around bridges and on the flats so we caught plenty of them.
Although the fish didn't cooperate like we'd hoped, we made good memories and had a great time.
Heading to West Point Friday.

We'll have a chat with our fish and let them know they need to treat our neighbors better:crazy: At least you were able to get together with family and spend some quality time. I wish you better luck next time.
