Bartholomew lake 3/11

Made a run this morning to try out a place I rarely fish.

As JR would say conditions were perfect, cold, windy, rain, cold, cold and cold....

Started off dipping shallow trees and bam, bass almost 4#. Go to next tree, bam 11" crappie. Go to next tree and bam, 2# bass. You see the pattern here?

Fished till the rain made me quit at 11. Just about the time I start picking up some good crappie the bottom falls out.

Kept 8 crappie, tossed a few back. Almost kept a limit of bass and tossed a few of those back along the way also. Had 4 bass go over 3#

I see an opportunity for some fish i.d in here as well. This one bass is considerably darker than the rest, almost black where the rest are a shade of green. I noticed the color difference when I caught it.

sweet.. that jig style/color was one of our best lures on the point last week...

Jimmy, the dark one is a black bass the green ones are green trout. :Rofl Couldn't help myself.
