Hard...Soft....WHAAAA.??

Hey guys
I have another NOOB question, Melted down some YUM tubes a while back, and noticed they were quite a bit stiffer than the DoIt essentials plastic I've been using and it changed from white to kind of a Carmel color (I don't think it burned)
Anyway I want to make a little stiffer plastic, am I better off to get some hardener, or get a gallon of the harder plastic and mix them?
The reason I ask is I'll be making a bunch of these baits, and don't want to waste money on buying hardener, if its more feaseable to get a gallon of hard plastic?


Ive never used hard plastic before...I just finished off my first gallon of plastic ever,
I guess what I'm asking is anybody use doit hard plastic? What should I expect? The baits I want to make are Prolly 50% stiffer than the plastic I've been using

I'd just get a stiffer plastic. You also might look into a better brand of plastic too.

That's the question...What's the best way to get the plastic stiffer to just add hardener?
What would you suggest for plastic.

I recommend mf they have a lot of choices in plastic

I was recommending you just by a hard plastisol over trying to make a softer plastisol harder. If you do try to make a softer harder I believe you have to add the hardner to raw plastisol. I recommend *********s or M-F plastisol.

Did a bunch of research, and there was not really a definative answer...Some say you can mix the plastics...Other say as DrNip that its an add raw to raw, without being able to change it once its heated...That's why I'm asking you guys here
I've read good things about MF, and use their colorants already, They have a sale going on now for 2 gallons delivered for $100 that can be mixed or matched
This brings me to another question...I have a bunch of colors mixed upfrom previous pours/ shoots that I'm super happy with...Those can't be mixed if I change to MF can they...Its not a problem if they cant be mixed, the DoIt plastic can get used up in molds that it has been working in so far

Just out of curiosity, since DoIt is the only stuff I have used...
What are its shortfalls?
What I have noticed that the baits seem to get darker after a couple of days. (Only using Non Bleed colors)
and it it burns if my Microwave is on High power 1100 watts, or in the 1 cup Pyrex (not the 4 cup)
heating at 70% power and stirring every 30 sec.s has solved most of that...and it smokes like crazy when its on the hot plate to keep it warm
