I haven't used any State parks, I looked at a couple and decided not to go. You should look at DNR lakes also. Some don't get fished very often. Draper has 3 lakes and one is so far from the beaten path no one goes to it to fish. Worth Mountain has a couple too! Hope you find a honey hole!:highfive
Worth mountain is near the new boat access ramp on the Broad River! Lot's of bass and small mouths in there .
Wateree State park. Lots of crappie in there. If MiCorps ain't fished it out!
You have Santee State Park, it has crappie fishing :) Have never stayed there but it is on my bucket list.
Andrew Jackson State Park. Gotta rent a boat. They do allow hand launched yaks ( I think).
Greenwood state park off of hwy 34 about 30 minutes away from newberry is right on the water. I usually take the camper and the boat for a long weekend in march
