Anyone fished Horseshoe Lake recently. I was there last Thursday but it was real windy and no one was having any luck. I think I caught 7. I talked to several other people and they were not catching anything either but they all said that the fish were biting really well before about 3 week ago before the cold weather hit. Just curious if anyone had been in the last several days.

The water temp should be around the mid 50s, so they will start heading towards the shallows. There's another guy on the board that fishes Horseshoe quite a bit. He will probably have more accurate info. I hope to be out there on Saturday.
How deep were you fishing for 'em last Thurs?
The few I caught were around six foot deep on the outside edges of the docks (about 8 foot of water). A couple of the people that I talked to said that is where they were catching them 3 or 4 weeks ago before it turned off cold. I don't know what kind of boat you have but be carefull putting in and taking out. The water is only about a foot deep for about 20 yards from the ramp to the lake. Once in the lake everything is fine.
The last time I was there the water temperature was 36, that was two weekends ago. I caught plenty of 6 to 8 inch fish, but have been catching some nice cats. The water seemed lower than it was a month ago. Until they pump the lake back up I'm not going back. It's time to hit the oxbows.

I meant to put in my other post that the water temp was 45* when I was there last Thursday. I don't think I will be going back either until the water comes up at least a foot. Hopefully the spring rains will raise it some. It looks like it is about 7 foot lower than it should be. Do any of you know the latest info on the pumps. I don't see how they will be able to raise it much with only 4 pumps. I think the pumps could possibly hold the water level but it will tough for them to raise the level very much. I hope that it comes up at least 3 or 4 feet because it is one of my favorite places to bass fish.

Are windy days (20+ mph) good days to stick mainly with yoyo's?
In my opinion, yes and no...It's good to run yo-yo's because you don't have to battle the open water. But, wind can make it more difficult to hold the boat and rebait/reset yo-yos. That's an easy way to bury a 1/0 in your hand.
