One decent sac today from a small lake just south of Abbeville - a gravid female black crappie that struck a black and chartreuse fly fished 8-10 inches deep close to the bank. I'd say things should be popping shortly at or south of that latitude.

I agree Pete. I'm well south of that latitude and was looking forward to some good fishing for the next few weeks. The only problem is the natural protection that Mother Nature gives to those spawning fish, the WIND. Looks like a windy week ahead which always make for tough fishing even if the fish cooperate.
