Sufix Elite Hi-Vis, 6lb

For those that use spinning reels and interested, I re-spooled two reels with this line yesterday and used them today. Had no issues with the line at all. My initial impression is very good. I think I am going to re-spool all my reels with Sufix Elite.

I have been an exclusive Mr Crappie line user, but experience the line memory issues exasperated by spinning reels.

With any spinning reel, I recommend spooling then pulling all your line with nothing on the end...then reel it in again applying slight pressure to get the twists out. And, if you can when purchasing a spinning reel go one size larger for a bigger spool...helps to minimize the memory issues.

You can do the same with a little swivel on your bait, the swivel will allow the line to untwist while out. I don't run a swivel when I troll, just to get line straight.

Thanks Cowboy. I single pole cast-n-retrieve, vertical, and flip. I use loop knots. No swivels for me with small jigs...call me old and old school:biggrin

Good line. Someone on here, I forgot who, recommended me to start using spinning reels with a larger spool and that combined with Suffix works very well for me. I try to pull out all the line (at least to the backing) and then reel it back up pinching it between a wet cloth, the night before I go fishing. It sure helps keep down the loops.

I just switched to vicious on a couple of my poles that were needing relined .have been using Mr crappie and still have it on some poles.and really like it.but I found some fresh 2360 yards vicious line FOR 9 bucks and wanted to give it a try since the owner from what I read is from ALABAMA.

I use Mr crappie 4 lb camo for my trolling and very seldom have any problems with it, and use vicious 2lb for shooting, and have no problems with it either. The Mr crappie 6lb hi vis I us for down rigging is what seem to want to twist up for me. I have used the hi vis Mr crappie in 4 lb also and had the same problem. I think there is a big difference in the hi vis and the camo, just my opinion and my experience with the line the past 10 or so years.

I have used mr crappie for a while because it was cheap and easy to find, but it seems to be worse about twist and tangles then when I started. I picked up a spool of sufix hivis 4lb and a spool of vicious 6lb and used both twice with no issues. I don't see using mr crappie and more. Would like to try gramma panfish 2lb but cannot find it local. Gamma panfish 2lb is rated better than 4lb breaking strength. I will not pay the shipping cost on any line, if any body knows where you can but it local let us now. Gamma panfish is not mono and cost more than most mono lines, put shipping on that and it doesn't make sense. I shoot docks and think line make a difference, I know many will disagree but that is ok.

You are correct on the line making a difference. It all comes down to personal preference and what works for some may not work for others. Lot to due with the reels used, and how often they are used.

I'm going to try some. I'm using BPS and Mr crappie now.they work ok on my trolling pole but there awful on my pitching and dock shooting poles. I love Pline but can't find it in hi viz.

I too am a big fan of Pline. I use CX and CXX. You can find hi-vis online...but I am not going to pay shipping. Just me. I really learned to like it when salmon/steelhead fishing in the Northwest. Pline is no memory and highly abrasive, as I learned in all the rocky waters in the Northwest. Would work well in heavy brush.
