Clarks Hill last week
I fished Clarks Hill last week and the first couple of days of this week. Fished about 3 hours or so most days. I long-lined primarily and did not stray much from the creek where my place up there is. It is not a great crappie creek but decent. Caught crappie pretty much every day keeping an average of about 10 or 12 for fillets. I bought a few minnows and tried tight-lining in area where I could see fish holding but for whatever reason, they did not seem to want minnows. I chunked one jig out slow trolling while I did it and the couple of fish I caught bit that so I went back to longlining. They seemed to like the clearer, lighter color jigs. I have been doing well on a pink body clear-chartruese tail curly jig but most of the lighter colors have been working. Did not do as well Monday and Tuesday as the fish seemed to move or just not be hitting as well. The fish I caught were mostly in about 15-20 feet of water. Sorry, no pictures. There were also several small hybrids mixed in but they were way too small to keep. They would school up and just wear out some small shad. Should not be too long before the crappie move to the banks.

Thanks for the info. We fished the hill Tuesday of this week and only managed 5 crappie. We were in soap creek and nobody was catching anything. Going back next week if the wind lays down some and try the sc little river

Thanks for the good report Midhillbilly. Glad you caught some fish.:)

Hitting them each day no doubt you will be all over them when they do hit the banks. Enjoyed your report.

Thank you for the report, the hill usually produces some big crappie
