Well just moved back to florida after 10yrs away. I remember leaving catching fish like crazy dreamed of moving back. Been out about 10 times caught a few, but just not like I remember. I live in Leesburg now. Griffin 5min away just cant seem to figure it out for catfish or specks. Nice to be here wish I knew about the meet at Griffin earlier.
Welcome back from Orange City. Slab lives on Griffin and sometimes has a tough time putting it all together, but they are there. You're in the right place to help get em figured out with some folks you'll see on the water from time to time. All that aside, you can't beat the weather lately. Been awful nice though we do have a front bouncing around out there that might rinse things down some. I know we sure need the rain. Good luck and have fun.

The FWC started a program bout 4 yeas ago to bring good fishing back to Griffin. There are fish attractors in about 6 locations. Look for the orange and white bouys. There is also a 10 inch minimum size limit on Griffin. Try fishing in the pads or just out from them in open water. Hopefully the fishing will get better and better in the near future.
When we had the get together I found a huge pile of bait and fish at the mouth of the Oklawaha. Plenty of eating fish 10" - 11" but not tourney winners. I wasnt trolling that day so there may well have been some in the mix. Found plenty of fish on the edge of pads and weeds along the northeast shore on that end as well. Look for a stick of 1/2" PVC pipe sticking out the water and fish from there into lake Griffin along the bank. Schools of bait were in open water and very visable. Hope this helps ya.

Before the sun cleared the trees and lit up the water I was pitching a 1/32 Roadrunner with motor oil slider and once the sun was high a 1/64oz head inserted inside a southern pro tube in appleseed under a tiny cork about 3' deep worked very very slow. And when the sun got overhead changed to sunshine minnow tube from BPS.
