Snakebit update.
Well it seems the snake only got one fang in me. I had my boat hooked up Sunday afternoon to take to shop today. The more I thought about the water pump not working the less sense it made because it was working just fine last time out. So to satisfy myself, I took it to the lake and backed in and cranked it. After about 10 seconds it sputtered some drops out the telltale and then began pumping at full stream. Apparently I didn't have the water muffs aligned right or something, even though I adjusted them several ways and even swapped sides and it would not pump with the muff and hose hook up.
So now just waiting for him to get my trim motor replaced and I should be ready to go.

Excellent news !!! Always great to have pleasant surprises isn't it.
Hope you get back on the water soon. The Spring Fling of fishing should start soon as the Crappie are filling up with eggs !

That is great new Ray. I have had dirt dobbers clog the hole and you may have had a bug craw in to check things out :)

how long has it been since it has been replaced? if it has been a while, you may just want to go ahead and bit the bullet and have the water and fuel pumps replaced while its in the shop (if your not able to do it yourself that is).

Well, my shop came through for me. Got a call today telling me my boat was ready. He has always been prompt, but I wasn't expecting a 24 hour turnaround. He said that pump is a common failure on the Yamahas, so he keeps a couple in stock.
As to the water pump, it was about 18 months old which is why I doubted it was bad. I did run a wire in the telltale to make sure it wasn't clogged. I've had to dig out dirt daubbers before too.
Picking it up in the morning and hope to hit the water on Thursday and/or Friday.
