This 10 minute video shows why you have to tip artificial soft plastic with scent, wax worm or a minnow head. The Crappie and Bluegill seem like they smell and then reject most of the presentations. I will tip mine always with scent or a taste of live bait. To make my scent I mix Anise, Cod Liver Oil, Garlic salt and Gulp. I put this mix in a small bottle and then use an eye dropper to put it on my soft plastic.

Not really understanding the purpose of this video other than to shake a jighead with what appears to be with no hook in front of fish like one was dribbling a basketball??? Thinking a slower more natural presentation would benefit the most. Scent, nibbles or whatever I guess if it makes you more confident. I never really use these and don't have a problem hooking up. Of course now my beliefs and style is nothing to do with ice fishing. Maybe it's different up north.

Ship is their any kind of measurments to that scent especially with anise it can be overpowering i have been using kickin crappie fish attractant its oil based and works fairly well

I do not know of any measurements my friend. I am just an old man who likes to fish. I AM NOT a professional. All I know is one or two drops of the mixture shaken not stirred from an eyedropper is enough scent for me.

I've done a lot of fishing for panfish thru the ice and in open water. I very rarely use anything on my plastics for scent or taste. That said, I do understand that cadence and presentation are very important. If you show the fish what they want to see they will bite.
