What do you think would make this a better unit? Would you go with the 3D transducer. I have been looking at one or the Gen 2 for my boat but just not sure yet. I'll be using it for trolling and brush piles. I hate buying new stuff that Im not to sure of.
The 3d xducer cannot be added to the HDS (Gen2 nor Gen3 nor Carbon) without the 3d module also ... It has 2 cable connections and plugs directly into the module ...
Reports are that the 3d view gives a remarkable understanding of the bottom topography (even tho the detail is not as defined as SI) ...
Reports are also that SI is even better when using the 3d xducer and module ...
