Here is a pic of "Nimrod" as he and I placed 4 more Persimmon tops in today. they will be in about 10 foot of water when the lake rises to summer pool.

It's also a good time to take pics of any structure that may not be visable when the lake comes up 3 feet to the summer level.

Interesting thought about the lake level. Common sense, but never thought about that.
Hey Mrwillis, we had a major drawdown about 7 years ago. All the way down into the old river channel. There were cypress stumps all along the old river bank. I spent all my time fishing and should have been taking pictures and making notes.:(
I didn't live on the lake then and only made a few trips a year.
Our lake is 342 Winter level
345 Summer level.
I took a picture of this area because I want to try wade fishing here in Mar/Apr.:)

How soon will the spawn be down there? I imagine the water temps are a lot higher right now then ours are.
The spawn usually happens the first or second week of April. Right now our surface temps have just hit 50 degrees. March should have some males moving in if we continue getting warm weather.
We have males on the banks if the water temps reach mid 60's or higher. The trouble is the weather in March is so unpredictable. It usually means there are several false runs and they pull out if the temp drops. The staging fish can be caught , but my favorite and most steady bite is post spawn.:D
It ought to be getting good real quick down there. We probably have several weeks to get up to 55-60 degrees up here.
