Rod Holder Setup
I have a Tracker grizzly 1754 and I am wanting to put a rod holder system similar to the monster rod rack that goes across the back of the boat.
I want it to be fairly sturdy for catfishing and snagging.
Anyone make their own or have any recommendations? Please share.

I am too cheap to by a monster. I also would like it to be higher for my setup.
Anyone have any ideas?

Unless you can weld yourself or you have access to free material I would go with Monster. I had a guy weld one up for me. Went with steel because the material was cheaper. By the time I fabbed up base plates, painted it etc it cost me just as much. You could fab up extensions on the monster. It is cleaner, lighter, more professional looking than anything I came up with. Mine was 2 x4 rectangular top rail about 90 inches long with end caps with 2 inch tubing down to 3x10 base plates. I then have permanently mounted base plates on the deck. It is removable with 6 tapped set screws. My spderlok crappie racks use this same larger base plates. I would not buy anything other than elite rod holders. Call Jesse. Has the best stuff on market. He jsut does not have rack system yet. I cleaned primed spray with herculiner then camo painted to match my xpress. Attachment 258125Attachment 258126

I have a welder and some tubing.
That's a cool setup, I like it! Post some pics of how it mounts.

That's a nice setup for cats and matching the mounting system to your Spyderloks was slick. Now, that ghillie suit for the boat is really unique...........lol!
