There is an ad on the Memphis Craigslist in the general and also the sporting goods section from someone selling lead ingots for $2.00 per lb. I have no connection to the ad. I just thought someone here may be needing some lead.

All of the ingots look to be wheel weights and berm pick up. The round cakes are 5 lb pure lead, $12 each at the plumbing supply house, $11 of you buy at string of 5.
Lead and wheel weights are 0.30 per lb at one scrap dealer and $1.05 to $1.25 per lb at another dealer.
Jimmy figure in the time and fuel to melt. Plus if you can still get wheel weight for that price. Better buy them up and resale them to bullet makers. Last I bought I paid 59 cents per pound and 20% were lead weight.
But I stopped getting wheel lead. Because I have 24 tons of soft lead now.
Buddy I know your cheap and always look for the best deal. But those days on lead is about gone.
I get to clean up the grandsons' range room at school twice per year. Mid term is just to get all the mess off the floor and out of the target boxes before Christmas break. Summer break is a total clean up of the room. This years mid term clean out yielded 21 3/4 lbs of 96% pure lead ingots. I melt the pellets in a cast iron pot over the fire pit. Yea, it takes a lot of hot burning wood to melt a heaping pot in a few hours, but I have lots of scrap wood.
Pete, did you get all the lead out of those steel frames?
