Thats a tough one. I tried for many years when first married and beyond broke to find even half decent bank fishing in freshwater in central Florida. Gave up and went to the beach and surf fished and waded the inshore waters and had a much better time. Problem I found was very limited access due to private lands and little to no access otherwise. Areas that did have access had very little to offer in fish habitat, mostly just a nice bank with no cover at all. Some of the management areas have creeks and ponds that are fishy but again little to no access or just not able to reach fishy areas. Good luck in your search and hope you find something to fish that you like.
Canoe Creek, There are openings in the fence, yes they are designed for fishermen to pass thru, You can walk to the lock and fish, that is good when the water is flowing, or you can go for a good hike for about a mile and fish near the bridge circled in this aerial. Catch Crappie in there most times of the year, Bass, and panfish in there also. Minnows would be best for Crappie, And if you like going after catfish, there are some big ones in there, 15 lb plus and they love chicken liver. Gators are sometimes in there but usually leave fishermen alone.
