Jig rattlers

Do any of y'all use them? I've been reading that in muddy water perch rely on vibration and scent rather than eye sight. However I don't think the scents or nibblets help me catch any more fish. I've tried the roadrunners with the spinner heads in muddy water and haven't had any luck with them and they put of vibartions. I've tried just about every color in muddy water but my numbers are down and I know the fish are there and they got to eat I would think. What are some of yalls tips for muddy water? Thanks

I fished mostly Bundicks which is always stained and I have good luck with red/chrt with orange or pink heads. I have also heard that orange is a good color in muddy water. I'm sure you already knew this though.

My nephew swears by the Rockport Rattler, Academy and Bass Pro have them. I have some now just need time to try them.

I purchased some of those rockport rattlers ( I will try anything once). I did not see any difference, however, I had them mixed with some live bait and trolling. If your type of fishing is vertical jigging, they might well make a big difference. but as far as spider rigging, I did not see any advantage. Whitey Outlaw sure loves them. He has a youtube video of a Rockport Rattler challenge where he fishes with those and his partner fishes right beside him with a different jighead and Whitey out catches him like 8 to 1.

Just picked up some RR at Academy because they went from 4 bucks down to 98cents for one packet of three or four. havn't used them but plan to in stained water. BTW my goto most days and especially muddy water is florescent jighead black chartreuse jig and nibble. has worked well for me.

Can't help you, Josh. Never used them. Back when all I did was bass fish, I used glass rattlers that I would insert into my plastic worms from time to time. I never really noticed that they helped me though. Just my experience. Doesn't mean they wouldn't work for you.

They say a bass has a lateral line that picks up sound and a crappie does not. But if all the spots on a spec and the vertical bars on a white pick up sound then the hear a lot of vibration. In muddy water they say dark color jigs are best. I use black and chartreuse and a glow jig in muddy water. Fish in muddy water relay on smell to find bait. So I use a rattle jig head, with a large shirt .with a rattle, pumped with a bait pump, a crappie nibble, a crappie physic, and a spinner and spit tobacco juice on it. My jig weight is up to 3 oz now. I don't catch a lot but sometimes one will float up that I hit in the head with this thing and I dip them up.

i use the rockports. they do make a difference in stained water or when dealing with finicky fish. i also believe orange is a good color in muddy water but so are darker colors. bg cajun cricket is probably my favorite with a solid black slater hair jig being second. i fish mostly small state lakes or river oxbows so it seems i am always dealing with dirty water or gin clear.
