They say a bass has a lateral line that picks up sound and a crappie does not. But if all the spots on a spec and the vertical bars on a white pick up sound then the hear a lot of vibration. In muddy water they say dark color jigs are best. I use black and chartreuse and a glow jig in muddy water. Fish in muddy water relay on smell to find bait. So I use a rattle jig head, with a large shirt .with a rattle, pumped with a bait pump, a crappie nibble, a crappie physic, and a spinner and spit tobacco juice on it. My jig weight is up to 3 oz now. I don't catch a lot but sometimes one will float up that I hit in the head with this thing and I dip them up.
