Canton, Mill Creek
A bit slow after all the rain we've had. Kept 9. Still fun. Two were 14" fatties that made the 10" fish look so small. This small city lake has a bowl section close to the dam. We let the wind drift us accross in the bowl to get our bites. 19 to 20 ft. The girls getting eggs and water and days are warmer. They may start the journey soon huh?Attachment 256953

Some hearty crappies in that little lake. I can remember when TP&W set traps to check the population and the little lake was
full of nice crappies. We went and did very well just fishing the banks during the spawn. South side of the lake near the park and
ramp area.

Never been there but 2 of them are big fishes ......black crappie might start in feb .....whites most likely march ....but in small lakes they go way early.....

I fished canton Tuesday. Weather was beautiful. I couldn't even find a fish, a certainly didn't get anything to bite. The water in Canton is extremely clear. You can see the bottom all the way to 10 ft or more. Not sure that's a good thing. Any suggestions on where to find the sandbass this time of year. I tried the dam, Canadian, big bend, the islands, even toward the mouth of the river. Never marked um.
