If you are asking about the XI5, Anchor Mode, it is worth every penny. There is a google video which shows the accuracy of the XI5 verse the MK, and I have read on numerous sites where the XI5 holds better than Spot Lock MK, now I'm not sure about the MK and any recent upgrades. I purchased the XI5 because a friend of mine has the MK and he also said the MK would not hold as well and when it did loose position and re-engage, it was not a smooth process. Another reason I bought the XI5 is the ease of connecting to the Lowrance Systems. Many people do not like the Motorguide Remote, but I don't know because I never owned the MK. I'm sure either would be perfectly fine just personal choices based on your set up. I know one thing buying the Motorguide prevented me from purchasing a Power Pole as it hold the boat and now see no need for the Pole. Last, if I had to make one major purchase for my boat, there is no doubt it would be the XI5 for me. It has made my fishing experience so much more pleasurable on a windy day, before I would get so aggravated fighting the wind I would say, "I'm done for the day", not now!!!
I bought the xi5 in February of last year. It is an amazing trolling motor. I agree with wmac62 in that it has made fishing on windy days so much more enjoyable. It does a lot of things and fits my fishing style perfect. You can't go wrong buying this trolling motor.
This^^^ holds our 19ft CC great in15-20mph winds. Ease of connecting to chartplotter as well. I don't know about the competition. Remote works great. Somewhat of a learning curve (for me) regarding foot control as it's pretty sensitive. I did wire it to a dedicated Blue Sea cut-off switch as I didn't wire up tm plugs on the bow.
