I know this is a subjective question but who do you guys think makes the best plastisol for the money? I'm just getting into this and will be ordering a starter kit and a few molds along with odds and ends from Do-It but would like to know who makes the best plastisol. Also the best place to order colorants and can I use glitter from the craft store.
Speaking for myself Do-it on the plastic you can take glitter from the craft store some some of it will bleed off so you have to be careful also make sure it is not metal that I use quite a bit from the craft stores .
Here is what I use:
*********s or M-F(Haven't used M-F but hear great things about it) on plastic
Spike-It on glitter
Spike-It or Do-It on colorant
Spike-It or Do-It on powders
On the colorant I've had several hard pack or bleed from Do-It. Hard pack so far has been pink and chartreuse. Might be more that have hard pack and will check tonight and report back. Colorants that have bled from Do-It are pink, orange and blue.
Do-it colors x2 they will hard pack on you you have to keep them shook up all colors but I do like the x2 so I guess I don't mind keeping them shook up . I never had the problem of there Colors bleeding .Quote:

I have 17 X2 colorants and the only ones of these that hard pack are pink, orange, chartreuse and fluorescent green chartreuse. Pink is the worst at it. I have a set amount of colorants that I use at least once a month if not weekly and get shaken with the 4 colorants I listed that hard pack being these and they still hard pack. The majority of my colorants I hardly use if use at all and don't get shook and they didn't hard pack. I even added stainless steel nuts to each colorant ages ago. Shaking all the colorants is pointless as only a few hard pack while the majority don't. Maybe shaking these 4 known hard packers daily would fix the issue but I don't have time for that and simply replacing these 4 colorants with Spike It's version seems to be a simpler solution. So far I've replaced the orange and fluorescent green and actually like Spike It's better.Quote:

I have everyone of x2 colors all of them seem to hard pack on Me anyway that's what is going on with me with their colors. I am gradually switching over to spike it. we bought a big bottle of the motor oil which is fantastic it's the original.Quote:

I will say one thing about Calhoun plastic I have probably used a couple of 55 gallon drums in the past it has its good points and bad points but all in all it is one of the leading plastics on the market many of the commercial guys use their plastic so what am saying is that it is a good quality plastic but again it's all in what you do get used to using mf a good quality plastic I have used about 20 gallons of their plastic in the past and had new no issues with it I've also used spike it again we did not have any issues with their plastic but all these were used for different things and searching for just the right plastic can be a nightmare I've also used a plastic from bait junkys which is a good plastic we use 5 gallons and I had no big issues so I'm not saying that any one of the manufacturer out there are bad they all have their good points and bad points it just what you get used to using again. we have this beautiful form here to share our information with we shouldn't be arguing about who is better than the other I figured that you can come on here and say whatever you want to without saying a bad thing about other plastics this is a learning place – what we should be using this form for and I would like to see more of us sharing their knowledge so that beginners and of course us guys a bit into it for a long time will get different ideals for their hobbies also we have some of the big boys on here to learn from us also.Quote:
