I'm planning on a late March trip to KY lake Paris landing area. Anyone can recommend where to stay and where to fish would be appreciated. I'm new to the site and Kentucky lake. I'm excited to get down there and find some nice crappies.

I don't fish that end of the lake but you might want to get with 1weezer (he's a guide out of Paris) and Canepole on the main forum. They are all over that area. :D
crappie action, I live and guide in the area that you are headed for. We have some great fishing in this area. I would fish the Sandy River area, which we are talking about a large body of water. It starts in just south of Paris Landing coming off of the Tennessee River. Since you aren't familiar with the area I would suggest that you fish around the power lines in late March and early April. If you go to my website which will come up when I send you this message, I have Map Quest on there. If you look at the map and come down Port Rd., you will find a very good ramp to put in at and you will be in the Sandy River. Also on my webpage I have some links that you can go to about places to stay in the area. If I can help you further feel free to call or email me.

I am a guide up in Illinois but I go down to Paris Landing about six times a year. Fishtale Lodge is the nicest place to stay but it is up on the highway and not on the lake. Buchanan's is comfortable and they have many guides who launch out of there. I will be down there March 23,24,25 and I am staying at Fishtale.Sharon is as nice a woman as you will meet and I always stay at her lodge. I pull my boat out each night anyway gear too expensive to leave unattended. Mouth of Eagle creek is very shallow as is the big flat down by the bridge. You must pay attention to buoys as you can hit bottom in middle of lake. New ramp in Sulpher Creek will get you down under most of the shallow spots. Best ramp in the area not on map yet. You can go to my web-site and look through the articles that I have published I am sure you will find articles about Paris Landing. www.*************************
I agree with Lakeshelbyvilleguide, Fishtale is a very nice place to stay. I had my storage lockers broke into a couple of years ago on Mansard Island Dock. As far as where to fish the towers and the channel breaks will usually produce crappie for the taking. I have alot of success with charlie brewer paddle tails and yum beaver tails. the colors vary but I always have goodluck with white. Goodluck fishing and never be found wanting.
