Darryl, I finaly got the boo sunk! We were able to build 5 condos with 4 stalks left for next time! I put them alonf creek channels in three differe'nt locations.

All but one fell over with the wind! Here is a picture of the one that stayed upright!
Those look great JT. I had the same trouble when I made my first group of tall ones. Things were great when I mixed the concrete and added the boo. Then a few hours later the wind picked up and I had a mess on my hands. If I make em tall like that now there going to be anchored at the base and a few of the larger limbs.

The 4 that fell over just to the left of that one all fell after the concrete was set thank goodness! Next time I'll put them together on one of our islands where I have some trees for support!
Vince, they should be holding fish by then I hope! I put them in places where I needed more brush that already hold fish.
Yea , that wind is rough building boo condos. We usually have to tie the boo to a tree or something. Great looking condos.:D
Those really look good! Do they stay stable in the water, guess with the buoyancy of the boo they would.
I notice some bamboo around here, wonder if my neighbor would miss it or even know it's there!
We accidently dropped one on a slight incline and it stood up! Darryl said they would and sure enough it did, just like magic!Quote:

JT.......not to intrude, but I wanted to show y'all another condo that myself and another member of the LA board put together. Watch the construction sites, you'll be surprised how much PVC they discard. It will keep the cost down. Here's a few links to the photos......they won't rot and will be there for a very long time, and will be almost snag-proof.
This is the finished condo except for painting, (dark green) it will make it easier for the algea to stick. We used 4 inch PVC as the main beam.

We used anti corrosive screws to hold the 1/2 inch pvc from moving. Screw them in from the side angling to the inside the pipe. Drill the holes each 1/4 turn of the big pipe for the 1/2 inch so that it looks like an "X" looking at it from the end. Drill all your holes in a straight line all the way thru both sides so the 1/2 inch will form the "X." Tie some heavy scrap metal on each end and in the center so current won't move it.
