Green River 1/1
Wanted to start the year off right so loaded up and headed to Green. Put in at Holmes and the first thing that I seen was that Green River sure did not look green. On Sunday you could call it Brown River lake it was muddy. The water temp was 41 at the ramp. Stop and hit a few brush piles in deeper water and did not get a bite. Time for plan B. Did some hunting around and found a big school of bait fish in 20 FOW with some fish mixed in them so we got the long lining stuff out and when to trolling. Did not get all the rods in the water before the first bite. I grab the rod and thought that I had a good one but it stayed down so I knew it was not the targeted spices. It was an 18" White Bass. The next bite was an 10" crappie we worked that area for the next 2 hours and put 12 crappie in the box. The Crappie was holding just on the drop off and the White Bass was in the deeper water. The bite died off so it was time for plan C. We spider rigged for the next 2 hours with nothing but short fish to show for it. I decided that we need to cover more water so started pulling again and ended up with 16 for the day. Not a bad way to start the new year off.

Good job!! I've been meaning to get down to Green this year but can't bring myself to leave the bite at Tville. I'm gonna make it a point to get down there before spawn.

I was kicking myself all day for not going to Taylorsville. But I don't get to Green that often and wanted to see what we could do. The fish that we picked up was better than the average Taylorsville fish. I was surprised at the number of white bass that we caught. I did not know that they have come back to that level. I would guess that we caught 50+
