Spring walleye run

Any of you ever make it up to Freemont (sanusky) or the Maumee river for the walleye run

I went years ago with my Dad. While we did catch some fish there were a lot of crossed lines from fishing the same stretch with 20 other guys. I can't remember where we went other than "Freemont." We were wading at the time. Might be a different story with a boat where you can get away from the heavy crowd. Did not fit my definition of fun with all the other traffic.

Hire a guide and go out on the big water ( ( after the run )... you'll enjoy yourself a lot more

I know this goes without saying.. whatever you do don't drop any trash and don't take pictures with snagged fish. The game wardens are overly aggressive up there and they will be watching you.

Oh I know we have been going without successfully catching any with out foul hooking them just trying to get opinions and advice
