Lots of choices in that price range. The Peak, Renzetti Traveler, Atlas Anvil and several others will give you good service. I have tied on a Renzetti for several years and like it just fine, but many others enjoy the others. Having looked at many over the years in person, I will say that you need to handle before you buy. Not every one with the right criteria handles the same. Good luck with the search and let us know what you decide and why, you teach us all.......Skeet
I am not sure there is a answer to your question. A lot depends on what are you tying? Example is when I tie large salt water flys and jigs I would recommend a vise that can handle large hook and has a lot of strength to hold them. If tying midge flys then a small jawed easy to close system would be a better choice. I like a renzetti travler for most of my tying. However renzetti has made some other models I would not give a dime for. I can not remember all of them but one was there top of the line a few years ago and it would not stay in adjustment. I would go where they have different models and try some of them. Many of the vises on the market do a good job but the quality in materials seems to suffer with the cheaper models. I guess it is like buying a pair of shoes or fly rod, what is right for me may not work for you. Good luck and keep tying as I am getting older and not as nimble as I used to be!
Sorry I should have been more specific on the use. I will be tying crappie jigs. Mostly 1/32 and 1/16 ounce jigs. I was thinking wrapping the chenille would be faster with rotary.

I bought a Renzetti Traveler for just the reason you state and it works splendidly. I have been tying flies for fly-fishing for over 30 years and never thought I needed a rotary till I started tying jigs. Since I got it, I not only use it for jigs, but for a lot of the flies that I tie on a routine basis such as woolly worms and woolly buggers (basically the same fly but the bugger has a large marabou tail).
Any of the rotary vises mentioned above will work well. I will caution you to stay away from the $50 ones on Ebay as they do not turn smoothly which is a requirement and one I have seen was impossible to keep in adjustment.
That being said you might check some of the Fly Tying websites' For Sale forums as I found mine on Fly Anglers Online for $75.
Will do Clint. Thanks.

Best vise for the money is a Peak with a starting price under $160, but an extra or so can bump it a little. Most of the better vises are a little over $200, but a good many below that too. In one of the sticky post I am sure that I posted a link to a study done several years back that is a good starting place to look. At that time the Peak was the best under $150, but that has changed a little since then. Look up the Ohio Study I posted the link to!
