I have the centered ones on my boat. Never had any issues, but the longest rods I use are 14'. I have even traveled with rods in them, but I do bungee strap them in, which is also a good idea in really rough water. Its nice to be able to run from spot to spot without worrying about storing the rods.

I use the offset ones, but only for trailering. I have the upright PVC Holders for on the water.
Incidentally I got my tip savers from Monk's Crappie. Good person to deal with.
I have some similar to the drift masters and I highly recommend these type of storage racks for your rods. There are pros and cons for either style. The offset style will either take up room in your boat or when turned to the out side of your boat, might have issues when docking or loading your boat on the trailer. The center mount will not take up as much on the inside but will not hang outside the boat as much. Just figure out which will work best for you and get you a pair. You will love them.
I have these From creekslick here on crappie.com
Thanks for all the info!
I used them on my last boat. Worked really well. I used 2 sets on each side of my boat and they handled 18 footers nicely.
