Report: Chickamauga Lake crappie 12/22/2016
Wind from the East, fish bite the least. Or so the old saying goes. I wasn't going to fish today, but Mr S called me around 8:30 or so and said that he would be in the water in 10 more minutes or so if I wanted to go. My wife and I had an errand to run, so I told him that it would be close to 12 when I would be available if he was still fishing. He said that he would still be fishing then. So, we hurried up and finished our little delivery that we had to make and I hustled back home and got ready to meet him at Wolftever ramp. It was 11:30 when he picked me up.
Wind was nearly calm, but it was slightly out of the East and switching to NE and as the day wore on, the wind picked up and came out of the North. We had sunny skies. We only managed 10 keepers, but did catch 2 trashy green fish (Largemouth Bass), one Drum, one Blue Catfish, 2 Yellow bass and a few shorter crappie. We both fished Bass Assassin Pro Tiny 2" shads in Limetreuse Glow, Bluegrass, and and S&P Phantom. The fish were on blowdowns and brush in 8-12 feet of water and the bite was subtle again today. We quit fishing at 3:00 pm.
Water temp was 49.9 degrees at 2:50 PM when we stopped fishing. Pretty good flow in the river today.
This is it until after Christmas for me. Merry Christmas to all my friends on CDC. :santaAttachment 254781Attachment 254780Attachment 254782Attachment 254783
