Tackle Organization

It's a big must have with kayak fishing, and I hadn't found the perfect tackle bag, it was either too big or way too small.

I got this one from Dick's Sporting Goods for around 12 bucks on sale. It'll hold 4 3600 boxes, or 2 3630, or 2 3600 and 1 3630, as well as front and side pockets.

I'll be using it for mostly crappie and panfish, with a few bass lures as well. I put the less oily and nonscented baits in the tackle tray, along with some hand tied hair jigs and a couple spinners. With the really oily baits I left them in their bags and put them in the 3630 deep. And the smaller box is terminal tackle.

I outfitted the bag with help from Walmart clearance bins so I didn't spend too much money[emoji1]

If you guys have any go-to lures that should also be in my arsenal feel free to tell me because I need all the help I can get

With a handle like panfishhunter - I'm guess you're targeting bluegill and crappie mostly? Do you prefer casting or vertical jigging. I have tons of stuff I use - but my real confidence baits are tube jigs, (hate to recommend a color for someone in Texas, but would happily tell you my favorites for the midwest) Plus I throw crappie sliders a lot. For gills, I have a hard time beating bait. My fav rig - believe it or not, is an ice jig (or ice blade they're called) tipped with a wax worm and then just enuff of a split shot to cast it good. use 2-4 lb line and drag it along the bottom - they can't lay off it - but it's gotta be relatively snag/moss free

also like hair jigs/marabous fished vertically under a thill bobber

I'm a big fan of 'finesse' fishing - small/subtle beats big/loud most times for me. (if that makes sense)

Thanks for the help! I'm an equal opportunities angler so whatever bites I'll catch haha! I fished bass tournaments in high school but I've been doing more panfishing than anything as of late.

My favorite 'gill bait is a 1/64 oz trout magnet jighead tipped with a red worm, or the same jighead and a 1.5 inch jigging grub by gulp when I'm fishing for dinner, or a 1/200 oz mini magnet with a tiny piece of worm when I'm bait fishing.
