With a handle like panfishhunter - I'm guess you're targeting bluegill and crappie mostly? Do you prefer casting or vertical jigging. I have tons of stuff I use - but my real confidence baits are tube jigs, (hate to recommend a color for someone in Texas, but would happily tell you my favorites for the midwest) Plus I throw crappie sliders a lot. For gills, I have a hard time beating bait. My fav rig - believe it or not, is an ice jig (or ice blade they're called) tipped with a wax worm and then just enuff of a split shot to cast it good. use 2-4 lb line and drag it along the bottom - they can't lay off it - but it's gotta be relatively snag/moss free
also like hair jigs/marabous fished vertically under a thill bobber
I'm a big fan of 'finesse' fishing - small/subtle beats big/loud most times for me. (if that makes sense)
