Murray Perch Jerk Report 12/17
Another tour is in the books for Operation Perch Removal and boy was it fun! My youngest brother in law accompanied me and we were loaded for bear when we shoved off the dock about 7:30 AM Saturday morning. It was a brisk start and never did get warm. We dealt with a few fog banks that rolled through and the humidity in the air made it even colder. Good news is the fish didn't seem to mind!
Just as past trips, fish were caught fishing in 35-40 FOW using a mixture of minnows and 1/2 oz spoons. Each caught their fair share of fish and the spoons came in handy to warm hands in between digging in the minnow buckets. We caught another 100+ fish of various species. Many small striper were caught as well as a 2.75 lb bass that made Simons day. We quit fishing at 11:30 AM with a cooler full of fish. We each had a great time and shared numerous laughs. Final tally that saw the knife was 71 perch and a bass.
