Wylie was windy but paid off with some perch
Went with Uncle Remus to lake Wylie Thursday morning. It was windy and cold but that didn't stop us from going. Found some fish in 40 - 45 foot of water but couldn't hold on them. My remote to the I pilot bit the dust first thing. The battery cap on the back got stripped while I was trying to reset the battery because of no power. No tape to be found on the pontoon. We had to leave what we saw and move to safer waters, ending up in Torrance Branch behind the Island on NC side. Remus found us some fish and we luckily we got the remote to working and laid it face down with anchor lock on. I didn't know it would work that way but Remus is a master of all trades said it would. We started catching fish on the first drop and it lasted a couple of hours that way. We had all sizes of fish throwing all the smaller ones back and keeping the larger ones. We had a few 1/4 pound to half a pound. Total caught maybe 100 and kept 47. We both had a good time even though we couldn't feel our finger from baiting the hooks in the cold air. When the perch moved on us we started looking and never found them again, so we headed home cold and stiff from the wind. The ramps at Ebenezer are better than a week ago and we had no problem other than the wind getting in or out at the ramp. I wish I had paid attention to the water temps but didn't. No pictures taken sorry! Thanks! Remus for taking an old Dawgg fishing I had a good time.:fish
