I can confirm there are crappie in this smallish Conecuh river lake...
The wife and I watched the weather forecast Sunday night and decided it would be a game time decision. We woke at 0430 and no rain, looked to be good all morning.
We made the hour long drive an put in under overcast skies. We spent the first hour exploring up toward Gantt Lake Dam using the electronics - marking way points for potential spring spots. After a while we headed back to the south looking for fish finding a bunch of good returns on a lay down in the river channel. The channel was 20' deep here and the fish were in the tree, around the tree, and above the tree. We rigged up for pushing and pulling jigs. We were rewarded with some good action with 4 fish on at the same time at one point. We caught a bunch of shorts with a few 9-11" in the mix.
We pushed it till about 1300 when we heard a distant thunderclap . We got soaked while trailering the boat..
