While that will help a lot of new comers I don't understand why you'd have to replace the jaws after 9 years? Might just need to be cleaned. I've got an old Herters #9 (thompson knockoff) and a Thompson and they both have the original jaws and no need to be replaced. I know winter time is tying time but you could always send it back to them for a tune up
Jaws on my Nor-vise is also about that old and are fine!

The jaws l don't hold as well as they did originally. The grooves have worn down and become a lot slicker. It takes more clamping pressure than it did before, so I plan to buy the saltwater jaws to replace the originals.
Don't get bent out of shape, guys. I still tie on it about everyday, but the jaws are not what they were originally. Anything that lasts nine years you're doing well. I don;t have to replace them, but the size flies I'm tying the slight wear on the original jaws, gosh $37 I get a pair of saltwater better suited for my purpose.
Not out of shape but just didn't understand why you thought you'd need new jaws. I don't tie on a rotary so wondered.
Okay, I see what you mean.
