Small piece of advice, I'm a duck hunter so hitting logs and stumps is nothing out of the ordinary. Get you a very sturdy rope, or multiple ropes braided together and run them from handle to handle on your boat around the back of your motor. Not only will it save your tiller handle from slamming into the transom and breaking when the motor kicks up but it could save your life, no fun when that motor breaks from kicking up too high and hard and comes into the boat spinning 5k+ rpms. Happens all too often!
