Not sure where to ask this..
I figure I am not the only one to think about it. I need a quality spot light for navigation purposes. When I was a kid, lights such as the Q-Beam were measured in candle power. A 1M candlepower 12volt light was good.
I am looking for a light that can send out a powerful beam and have flood capability. It needs to be durable; it will get banged around, 12v powered, and preferably LED.
Any recommendations based on experience?
Southernliteled has some nice mounted ones.
Just get one of the light bars off eBay, unless you spend the $$$ on rigid all the lights are the exact same, they just get different logos etched into the housings. If you want something handheld look at Seelites HID bulb spotlight.

I have a 2million candle power I bought from Blains Farm & Fleet 8 years ago now. No issues and it plugs into my 12v accessory outlets. Only time the light gave me problems was during a torrential downpour. The light worked great. however the reflection off the rain drops made it impossible for me to see anything beyond the end of the boat. It was like trying to see through a one way mirror. I had to turn off the light and navigate during lightening strikes. During the lightening flashes I would locate shore and keep my distance, navigating to my destination. Finally found my camp site and got off the water. I don't know if they still sell the lights or not, but it has done me well over the years.Quote:
