Some Interesting Pre-dawn Screenshots from Jordaqn
Took these screenshots last Saturday morning before the tournament on Jordan. I get better reflections of the fish when it is night or low light. Went in this area today and with the water cooling, the fish are moving. The migration to deeper water is taking place.
I had the setting for 200 feet out from both sides of the boat. As you can see, there is diminishing returns at about 150, so I dialed it back. People have asked me if all the fishing pressure in the Farrington area is wiping out all the crappie population. From these images, it is clear there is a very large population of crappie. They are scattered all over a huge area. Because they are scattered, we chose to long-line last week to target these crappie.
All of the fish you see in these shots will eventually go through the channel at the Farrington bridge. They are all going to winter in the deeper parts of the lake along with the shad. My thoughts are that yes, several thousand crappie are being caught in the Farrington area, but there is such a large population that I don't think the fishing pressure will impact the stocks on this part of the lake. Feel free to chime in and share you thoughts.
