Sorry to report
I made it over to the slabfest on the 5th but I didn't bring the boat. My wife and I watched as boat after boat came in with tons of fish. What a great day.
Today I finally got a chance to put the boat in the water. I headed over to my favorite spot ( one of the hot spots last week ) and set out the rods. I looked around and there were at least a half dozen other boat there as well. The winds were not bad, 5-10 mph out of the NNW. It made for a nice drift. The first pass put one fish in the boat. I headed back to set up for another pass ( noticed that there were not as many boats as before). On this pass I used the trolling motor to hold me a little closer to the shore line. I put two more fish in the box. Set for a third pass but this time more to the east. Made the pass with 3 more keepers to add to the collection. By this time it was 11am and that is my quitting time, need to get home for lunch.
I am sorry to report that the fish were not jumping in the boat like they were last week. But I got 6 nice keepers and a few throw backs. I got to try some new baits and a new set up. I feel like I had a good day.

Sometimes it happens. Only thing I can offer is when your making your way across the lake and its flat in the morning take a wide turn across the middle of the lake and keep a keen eye for shad flickering on the top. Wherever them shad go the fish will follow. Thats a big lake and there are many good areas to seek them in. A little to much pressure in one area will move em to others. More often than not, if I am not getting bit out there I speed up. But looks like ya had a good morning.

Ya know what they say....better than a good day at work....I reflected at lunch what a beautiful day it would have been on the water, gotta have a few slow days to make the other times that much more special....there's always tomorrow....

Good enough to suit me Jim. Being able to go during the week is good in itself.

Huntin Slabs really put some good ideas out there.
If something is not working - CHANGE - if your are drifting - turn boat with wind and put trolling motor to work,
start speed at 8 - 1.0 -go up from there. If you have equipment with you go to Spider rigging into the wind.
If you are catching little ones, you might be to deep. I always keep one rod free floating the top off to side or
from rear depending on what mode i'm in.
Use you depth finder - spread it out - look for new locations based on depth lines
Last weekend was somewhat of an exception with cold front in - commin in bare-pressure was in the 29's - low 30's

Thanks for the great tips. It seems like change can be good ! I will be giving all of these pointer a try.
