LOZ Saturday limit out and a deer

Went to Loz Saturday morning. Got 10 miles down the highway and had a deer staring at me on the side of the highway. Luckily he didn't run out in front of me. But still had a 130 miles to go. Made it all the way down past the tow bridge on the lake, turned on TT to go to the ramp and a deer runs along side of me and runs into my passenger front fender. Made it on the lake and ran into Mr Baker at the boat ramp. The fishing started slow and most fish were caught on the chartreuse/ silver minnow minder with chartreuse niblits. During the day caught at least 40 crappie but most were around 9" size. Caught bigger fish later after lunch on the blue ice.
Back in one cove the white bass were chasing the bait fish so I caught a mess of them also. Stop at Burger King in Jeff City on the way home to get a burger and the cashier kept giving funny looks. When I got home I looked in the mirror and I had a bunch of the Chartreuse sparkles from the niblets on my face. Attachment 251497Attachment 251498Attachment 251499

Well I hope it didn't total out your vehicle like a deer did mine but I was driving a real piece so it didn't take much. That's interesting the bite picked up as the day went on because this time of year it's an early bite, at least for me. And dude next time your in J.C. hit me up I'll a have burger, with or without crappie nibbles on your face:juggle

Water temperature at end of afternoon was 70 degrees still. I did miss two bigger fish in the morning, one at the top of the morning and another on the boat that came loose on the deck and flipped back in. Lil Baby, I would have called you but I thought you worked on the weekends. Most fish were caught 10 to 15 feet deep, close to the bottom. Had to work the area hard to catch the bigger ones.

Way to stay after them. Nice mess of fish.

Glad you found action Mark if the grandys were not staying the weekend I sure would have joined you. Thanks for the invite.

sounds like an eventful day for sure, I like this time of year, seems when the sun get higher the fish get more active, heck sometimes I don't get to the water till 11 or so and do well, congrats. on your day.

Sure the sparkles weren't left from Flirt or Club GQ?
