I saw NC Wildlife Commission folks pulling hoop nets at Harris the other day and was amazed at the size of the bluegill and redears they had in them. Makes me want to take some crickets down there one day.

I've caught several gills while crappie fishing with minnows. Nothing huge but still eater size. Also, got pounded by the perch the last two trips.
We use to go down to Harris chasing them. They are always around the grassline, and fun to catch. I'm sure if you google it, there was an article in the NC sportsman about fishing there for big bluegills, and redears.
