Oops

A family friend bought a brand new boat from BPS. He got one of the setups for bow fishing/gigging they have started making. Comes with railing and generator for night time. Last weekend after 2 hours on the water the generator caught fire. Was able to get fire out before big disaster. Fried generator and melted boat plug. Called BPS and they said to take it to a dealer. It could take 2 months to fix because the generators come from CHINA and sometimes they get delayed at customs.

I'd tell them I want American made!

It's a big problem. My son just bought that boat also. He went through 3 of those generators before he blew his stack on them to the point that Jonny Morris jr. Called him personally and assured him his boat would be fixed. Long story short they put a brand new Honda generator that was bigger than the original and rewired the whole boat with bigger wire.
Work was done at BPS in Lee's Summit. No problems since.
That cheap generator from China is junk and wouldn't let them install another.
